SOME LETTERS.

Find the hidden five-letter word in five detonations. Every load must spell a real five-letter word, including the letters already locked in place. Repeated letters are welcome.

Four letters already locked? Any valid finishing word that agrees with every earlier clue can win, even if it differs from the original answer. Press DETONATE as usual. It still uses a blast, and five is the limit. Reaching only four locks on the fifth blast is a loss.

Words outside our dictionary, profanity and slurs aren’t accepted. A rejected word costs no blasts; edit your letters and try again.

Right letter. Right spot. Locked.It stays bolted in place for the rest of the game. Its keyboard key turns brass and gains a lock marker.

Right letter. Wrong spot. Try elsewhere.Its keyboard key turns teal with a double arrow. A small teal tile stays on the rack below the box where you tried it. That tile means “this letter belongs elsewhere”. Type it into another slot.

Each rack holds up to four different letters, with no duplicates. It keeps every place where a letter has already failed, including positions tested with an extra repeated copy. A letter’s reminders disappear when all the copies you’ve found are locked, and return if you discover another copy. Use the keyboard to enter letters.

Not needed. Gone.It explodes. If the answer has none of that letter, its keyboard key is left cracked, scorched and sunken. You can still read it, but can’t use it.

MORE THAN ONE OF THE SAME LETTER?

Each copy needs its own match in the answer. Right spots lock first. Other copies the answer needs turn the key teal. Any extras explode.

An exploding E can mean “one E too many”. If another E is found, E stays available. A teal key with a brass lock marker means one copy is locked and another still needs a place.

Tap a slot to change it. Typing skips locked letters. Enter detonates; Backspace removes a letter.
